Open to work, what my week 1 looks like

Rob Vasquez·

Open to work. Here's exactly what my first week on your team looks like, so you can judge the fit before we even talk.

Day 1 to 2: I read the codebase and the deploy path before I read the docs. I find how a change gets from a laptop to production, and I push something tiny through that whole pipe, a copy fix or a small endpoint, so I've proven I can actually deliver in your setup.

Day 3 to 4: I pick the first real ticket and own it end to end. Migration, API, UI, tests. I ask sharp questions early and few questions late.

Day 5: you have merged, deployed work from me, plus a map of where the duplication and the risk live and what's worth fixing next.

By week three I'm not still getting set up. I've onboarded myself onto 20+ apps in one monorepo, so starting fast in an unfamiliar codebase is a rehearsed skill for me rather than a hope.

I'm after senior full-stack or founding-engineer roles, remote-first, where owning the whole slice is the expectation.

If that's the pace you need, DM me. We'll find out in a conversation, then a trial, whether I'm the right fit.
